The valve operates using a hinged disc that swings open when fluid flows in the intended direction. When flow slows, stops, or reverses, the disc automatically swings back into the closed position under gravity or reverse pressure. This self-acting mechanism allows the valve to function without external control or manual intervention.
Because of this operating principle, a non return swing check valve is best suited for applications with relatively steady flow conditions. It is widely used in water treatment systems, oil and gas pipelines, HVAC networks, and general industrial piping where dependable backflow prevention is required without significant pressure loss.
